We’ve received reports of users seeing Tweets from people they are not following in their timelines; we’ve isolated the issue and remedied it.
Twitter is great but it is also frequently down- whether from international hackers or just growing pains.
From here you can see the current status of Twitter. It shows the status in two ways: a percent of uptime and a color ranging from red (down) to yellow to green (running well). This widget updates every five minutes.
This data comes from the functioning of FeedTwit, a twitter app that can send Twitter @ replies as SMS.
